Dubsmash app released back in 2014, and in the same year, it reached over 50 million downloads worldwide. In 30 countries, it became the number 1 app, which itself is a quite significant feat. The main offering of the app was that it provides users with an opportunity to remake or reshoot the most popular dialogue, famous films, and TV shows. As the application got feedbacks from various users, the developing team made many improvements and changes to the apps. The controls, UI, and UX of the app are now far different from the original version. Do you know that you can even now shoot the Dubsmash videos without in need of holding down the record button? Here’s how to do so.

Step by Step Tutorial: How to Make Dubsmash Without Holding the Record Button?

Step 1: Set up Dubsmash

Firstly, make sure that the Dubsmash app is installed correctly and then sign up to the app using your registered ID and password. If you are a new user, then make sure to create a new account on Dubsmash. Once the app is settled, head to the Explore tab on the Dubsmash app.

Step 2: Setting Up the Audio Clip

From the Explore tab, one can quickly get the trending and most used audio clips. You can also use the My Sounds tab to find an audio file from a TV show and movie that is not available in the Explore tab.

If you want to upload another audio file that is not available on the Dubsmash server, then head to the Profile page. There you need to head to Sounds and then tap on the Add New Sound located on the upper-right corner.

Step 3: Pressing the Dub Button

Once the audio clip is selected and you are all set to initiate the recording, just hit the Dub button, which has a purple colour.

Step 4: Tapping the Dub button Only for Once

As on step 3, once pressing the Dub button, the camera will activate to record your face. Once you are all set to start the recording, press the Dub button once more to initiate the recording, and there is no need to hold down the button. When you hold it down for the entire session, it is the biggest mistake you do while using the Dubsmash app since the app developers recommends to only tap the button for once.

You can also set a five seconds timer before the device initiates the process of making Dubsmash and starts mixing your video recording with the sounds effects presented in the audio clip.

In case you want to take a pause in the middle of the recording, just tap the purple Dub button for once. This will instantly pause down the process of creating Dubsmash. Bear in your mind that tapping the button for once will not stop the recording process. When you get back ready for recording your current video, tap the same button for once to resume the recording as well as the audio playback. You can use the pause and resume options for as many times as you want.

Step 5: Finishing the Dubsmash

Once the process reaches the end of the audio clip, the created Dubsmash will play for a preview.

Then you have to press the Next button if you are satisfied with the Dubsmash. Now you will need to add captions to your clip and also audit the privacy settings. Tap on the clip to save it your local device gallery, and you can also share the clip directly on the social platforms by using the controls provided in the app.
